This 55 year-old woman only had ptosis (eyelid droop) of her right eye. Extensive longtime use of contact lenses can sometimes cause ptosis in younger patients, as was the case for her. An internal ptosis repair was performed by tightening the eyelid muscle from the underneath of the eyelid, WITHOUT any external skin incisions. This is an excellent method of surgery as it leaves no scars externally. Not all patients with ptosis are candidates for this method of ptosis repair. Dr. Amadi’s evaluation will determine if this technique will work for you. As her eyelid droop was severe, insurance covered the cost of surgery.
