This 59 year old woman presented to Dr. Amadi’s colleague with complaints regarding her facial wrinkling, especially around her eyes. Laser resurfacing can cause tightening of the skin around the eyes which can pull the lids down. This patient already had inferior eyelid retraction, giving her rounded lower eyelids. Dr. Amadi performed lower eyelid retraction repair with internal grafts to give her protection to allow laser resurfacing of her face. Without this repair, her eyelids would have been pulled down even further. This patient was so happy with her eyelid appearance since it aesthetically improved the shape of her eyes, making them less rounded and more almond shape. Of course, the laser resurfacing has also impressively improved her eyelid wrinkles.
