This 21-year-old Asian student presented with a congenital ptosis (droop) of the right upper eyelid which was present since birth. . Although the patient had a perfectly formed left upper eyelid crease, the droopy right eyelid had no crease. Dr. Amadi performed the eyelid ptosis repair to improve the patient’s vision, and at the same time created the eyelid crease to match the normal left side. This is often called “Asian Blepharoplasty” or “double eyelid surgery”. The second photo shows the postoperative appearance after 1 week when the there is still swelling present. The other photos with the patient’s eyes open and closed are taken 3 months after surgery. There is remarkable symmetry with which the patient was extremely pleased.
