This 42-year-old Asian woman presented with left upper eyelid droop (ptosis) which gradually developed after the birth of her child. She also is a long-time contact lens wearer which is likely the cause of her droopy eyelid. The droopy eyelid was getting in the way of her vision, and after a formal visual field confirmed her vision compromise, her insurance company authorized her surgery. Dr. Amadi performed an external upper eyelid blepharoplasty, and matched her eyelid and eyelid crease to her normal right eye. The patient was very pleased with her improved vision and her symmetrical appearance.
