Lower Blepharoplasty

Lower Blepharoplasty 16

This 70 year old patient presented with complaints of heavy upper eyelids and lower eyelids bags that made him seem tired all the time. He has significant upper eyelid skin excess and lower lid fat prolapse.  Dr. Amadi performed an upper and lower blepharoplasty. His lower lids had significant amount of fat excess, so Dr. Amadi excised some fat, repositioned some to the tear trough hollow below, and also removed some excess skin that was more obvious once the fat was redistributed. It is extremely important to also tighten the eyelids deep structures (canthopexy) to ensure that the lids do not pull down during the healing process. His upper eyelid excess skin was removed as part of the upper blepharoplasty.  It is important to point out that the patient’s eyebrows settled after the surgery since he is no longer actively raising his eyebrows to compensate for his heavy upper eyelids.  The patient was thrilled with his improvement.
